Looking for a Brooklyn summer camp for kids that’s unique, active, and values-driven?


Our Aikido Summer Camp blends outdoor fitness, Japanese cultural arts, and martial arts instruction in a supportive and fun environment for children ages 7 and up.

Led by experienced instructors at Aikido of Park Slope, this six-day camp offers kids the chance to explore movement, mindfulness, and teamwork while enjoying the beauty of Prospect Park and the calm focus of our indoor dojo.

 

Camp Schedule and Dates

2025 Camp Dates: 6 Days

Week 1: Monday, June 30, Tuesday, July 1, Wednesday, July 2, 

Week 2: Monday, July 6, Tuesday, July 7, Wednesday, July 8

 

Daily Hours: 9:00 AM to 2:40 PM
 

Drop-Off Location: Grand Army Plaza entrance to Prospect Park (near the Picnic House)
 

Pick-Up Location: Aikido of Park Slope – 630 Sackett Street, Brooklyn NY 11217

 

What a Typical Camp Day Looks Like

Morning in Prospect Park

  • Group warm-up and 1.5 mile run

  • Strength and conditioning drills

  • Wooden weapons practice (age-appropriate and safe)

  • Snack and outdoor group games

 

Midday at the Dojo

  • Lunch (bring your own)

  • Creative activities: origami, haiku writing, and storytelling

  • A focused Aikido class taught by certified instructors

This program is suitable for beginners and experienced students alike. Our emphasis is on physical movement, inner discipline, and building a compassionate, respectful camp environment.
